Why Microsoft Outlook 2019
With the Outlook 2019 version, the software company from Redmond has put together a powerful software package that comes with numerous interesting innovations compared to the Outlook 2016 version. However, the core of the software remains the reliable sending and receiving of e-mails, whereby multiple accounts can be conveniently linked and managed with the software.
To organise the mailbox, Microsoft Outlook offers its users the option of creating folder structures, creating task lists, managing address books and organising appointments in the extensive calendar. Thanks to synchronisation between different end devices, important information is also always available on the smartphone or notebook when it is needed.
Useful innovations in Microsoft Outlook 2019
Communication is also facilitated by extended organisational functions, such as the possibility to see how many contacts have already responded to an invitation. Equally practical is the new BCC warning, which prevents the user from sending a reply to a received message without intending to do so to all recipients of the originally received e-mail. Due to the so-called “Bill Reminder”, Microsoft Outlook also reliably recognises received bills and enters the due payment dates in the calendar, which significantly reduces the probability of missing payment deadlines. The “Bill Reminder” function is therefore particularly practical for self-employed persons and small businesses.
Customisable user interface
As part of the revision of the e-mail software, Microsoft has fundamentally revised and streamlined the familiar ribbon interface from the previous version. In the current version, users can choose between the traditional interface and an interface reduced to a menu bar. In addition, users of Microsoft Outlook 2019 can now customise the control elements of the menu bar at the top of the screen as well as the elements on the new navigation bar at the left edge of the screen.
More security against malware and phishing mails
A number of changes have also been made in the area of security, with the current Outlook version impressing above all with its new Safe Link service. While embedded links are now provided with a much better preview, a real-time scanner in the background ensures that malware and phishing links are reliably filtered out.
Additional innovations for iOS
The iOS version of Microsoft Outlook in particular comes with several additional improvements. These include the integration of machine learning functions in the calendar system. These enable Microsoft Outlook 2019 to automatically suggest a suitable location for a meeting, for example, by analysing the user’s location and the number of people participating in an event.
